Women who previously underwent tubal sterilization often seek to have the procedure reversed. The success of tubal reversal is dependent upon many factors including where and how the tubes were cut.

The literature supports that the per cycle success rates using IVF are higher than for tubal reversal. However, there is no limit to the number of times a couple can attempt pregnancy after a reversal whereas multiple IVF cycles my be limited by cost. Many factors must be taken into account when making this treatment decision including the age of the female, her treatment history, the presence of male infertility, and many other factors.
